ACM Communication Lost Fault/Communication Fault

Presentation of the potential causes for the above mentioned fault and prescribed corrective actions.

Handling actuator cables and connections while the ACM, Haptic Bridge or Haptic Actuator is powered could cause injury or death due to the high voltage involved. Always turn off the system power by unplugging the ACM or Haptic Bridge power cord before handling any cables or connections.

NOTE: Cooler Master Motion 1 gaming chair and D-BOX VIBE chair are powered by a G5 Haptic System.

G5 Haptic System

The power cable is disconnected from the ACM(s) (G1/G2/G3) or the Haptic Actuator (G5).

  1. Visually inspect the entire length of the power cable for obvious signs of damage. Replace it in case of doubts.
  2. Make sure the ACM power cable is securely plugged in.
  3. Make sure you are connected to a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use adapter plugs or remove the grounding prong from cables. If you must use an extension cable, use a 3-wire cable with properly grounded plugs.
  4. Inside the ACM, check that the white 4 pins power connector is properly connected.
  1. Visually inspect the entire length of the USB cable for obvious signs of damage.
  2. Make sure all your Haptic Actuators or your haptic gaming chair are connected to a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use adapter plugs or remove the grounding prong from cables. If you must use an extension cable, use a 3-wire cable with properly grounded plugs.
  3. If you have a sim racing rig or a home theater chair, ensure you have installed the yellow IEC Plug-Lock and that all power cables are correctly inserted in "Y" splitters.
Defective or disconnected CAT
5e/6 cable.
  1. Visually inspect the entire length of the communication cables for obvious signs of damage. Replace them in case of doubts.
  2. Make sure that all communication cables are Cat.5e/6 shielded cables.
  3. Make sure the communication cable is no longer than 100 feet (30m).
  4. Make sure the communication cables are properly connected and that the last Main and Secondary ACMs are terminated.

For Haptic Bridge KineChain (HB240) only

  1. Visually inspect the entire length of the communication cables for obvious signs of damage. Replace them in case of doubts.
  2. Make sure that all communication cables are Cat.5e/6 shielded cables.
  3. Make sure the communication cable is no longer than 100 feet (30m).
  4. Make sure the communication cables are properly connected and that the last Haptic Bridge is terminated.
