Motion Core - Release Notes

This article briefly details specific changes included in the product update (recent changes, feature enhancements, or bug fixes). This software suite includes the Game Center, HaptiSync App, Adaptive Gaming Configurator and Drivers.

Motion Core 11.6 - April 25, 2024

Adaptive Gaming Configurator

  • Some user interface (UI) tweaks have been implemented in the Generic Controllers and Joystick Controllers sections to enhance clarity and user-friendliness.
  • The "Haptic Mute Enabled" toggle switch has been updated. Now, when toggling the switch from OFF to ON, the actuators no longer reinitialize. This improvement results in a more efficient and effective muting function.
  • The "Adaptive Gaming Enabled" toggle switch has been replaced with a banner. This banner will only appear at the top when Adaptive Gaming is not the active mode. Its purpose is to inform the user that the Adaptive Gaming functionalities will not be available and provide a button to switch to Adaptive Gaming mode for full functionality.

  • We added new Adaptive Gaming profiles designed to support the most popular new games. These profiles have been carefully created to enhance gameplay experiences and provide users with optimized haptic feedback tailored specifically to these games.

Motion Core 11.5.2 - January 16, 2024

Adaptive Gaming:

  • The dead zone value for joystick devices with movement-type effects has been reduced to produce a smoother experience when moving around the center position.

Bug fix:

  • Fixed an issue in Adaptive Gaming where continuous axis movement may have incurred significant latency with the mapped haptic effect.

Motion Core 11.5.1 - December 22, 2023

Known issue:
  • We are aware of an issue in Adaptive Gaming where continuous axis movement may incur significant latency with the mapped haptic effect. The team is already mobilized in resolving it and will deploy a fix soon.

Motion Core 11.5 - December 13, 2023

Adaptive Gaming mode:               

    • Significant improvements have been made to the Adaptive Gaming Mode, marking its exit from the beta phase. Users can now utilize multiple devices in a profile (e.g. Joystick and Throttle) and map each to different effects.
    • Previously built Adaptive Gaming profiles continue working as intended, but need to be updated in order to use the new multiple device mapping support.
D-BOX Coded mode:
    • The D-BOX Coded Video mode has been enhanced, enabling users to preload haptic code for the movie they are about to watch.  This Fast Sync feature aims to accelerate content recognition and synchronization.  To enable Fast Sync, users need to have version 3.1 of our HaptiSync Mobile app.  Please note that this functionality is not available on the Windows app.

Bug fixes :

  • Fixed a previously encountered problem preventing the Game Center from opening when the user's D-BOX Connect session expired.

Known issues:

  • We are aware of an issue in Adaptive Gaming where continuous axis movement may incur significant latency with the mapped haptic effect. The team is already mobilized in resolving it and will deploy a fix soon.

Motion Core 11.4.3 -  November 21, 2023

Adaptive Audio fixes

  • Fixed an issue that prevented Adaptive Audio from working (all platforms).
  • Also fixed an issue that affected HEMC only that prevented users from changing the intensity (it had no effect). This issue has been successfully resolved, restoring the ability to adjust intensity settings with the HaptiSync app for a more personalized experience.

Adaptive Gaming fix

  • Implemented a solution to address a compatibility issue that previously prevented the use of Adaptive Gaming on a limited number of systems.

  • We added new Adaptive Gaming profiles designed to support the most popular new games. These profiles have been carefully created to enhance gameplay experiences and provide users with optimized haptic feedback tailored specifically to these games.

Motion Core 11.4.2 - October 23, 2023

Adaptive Gaming various improvements and bug fixes:

    • Automatic value conversion depending on the type of device detected during mapping (steering wheel, pedal, flightstick, throttle, etc.)

    • Half-axes mapping to button effects (ex: a game controller thumbstick can have a button or engine effect mapped in one direction and a different effect in the opposite direction)

    • Invert option for axis movement and joystick movement effects

    • Hat controls (D-Pads) of joystick devices support

    • Hard-set dead zone for axes from joystick devices

    • Various bugs fixes 

  • D-BOX Control Panel settings migration from a per-user to a per-PC configuration to ensure a more consistent user experience when switching between D-BOX Coded Gaming and D-BOX Coded Video modes. No settings will be lost during this migration process.

      Motion Core 11.3 - May 9, 2023

      • Improved experience for new users
        • The default playback audio device is now automatically configured as the audio source on Windows PC (first time installation only), making it easier for users to get started right away.
        • New users will now receive accurate subscription information without having to wait for the haptic codes to be installed on their unit.
      • Content update on-demand
        • Users can manually request the latest content updates directly within the app. With this update, users no longer need to wait for the next automatic check. This enhancement ensures that users can access the latest releases as soon as they become available.
      • HaptiSync app enhancements
        • Users can now view the active Adaptive Gaming profile within the HaptiSync app.
        • The HaptiSync app can now be launched by clicking on the Agent icon in the system tray or after installing Motion Core.
      • Stability improvements and bug fixes
        • Crash on startup of Adaptive Gaming Configurator
        • Adaptive Gaming profiles are not always saved in UTF8
        • Invalid Adaptive Gaming profiles loaded
        • Reversed spectrum on KCA
        • Experience mode error message lost when changing mode
        • KAI-1P available as audio source when disconnected
        • Constant vibration upon Adaptive Audio activation on HEMC
        • Invalid audio source level initial value
      • Known issues
        • When switching to Adaptive Audio for the first time after the update, the Audio Source Level cannot be adjusted. Switching to another experience mode and/or audio device and/or restarting should fix the issue.

        • All potential Haptic Bridge configurations are now supported, including the use of a single KCU-1P to chain multiple G5 Haptic Systems receiving the same haptic stream.

        • Access point not starting after removing the Ethernet connection
